A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO MRS TEO POH YIM

Patron of Mind Science Centre

The song ends but the melody lingers on…

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs Teo Poh Yim, Patron of the Mind Science Centre on 31 Oct 2021. Our condolences and prayers go with Senior Minister Mr Teo Chee Hean and his family during this time of bereavement.

Mrs Teo mooted the idea of translational research for dementia prevention in August 2014.  She became our Patron in October 2017 and was instrumental in shaping and leading the Mind Science Centre to achieve various crucial milestones during its formative years, raising from a NUS School of Medicine academic research centre to a NUHS Centre of Excellence.

Her passion and commitment to help the community enabled Mind Science Centre to persevere in the development of population-based intervention programmes that will better manage the rising rates of dementia and depression, improve quality of life of seniors and reduce disease burden on families.

She touched many lives and her absence will be profoundly felt by Chairman, Dr Cheong Choong Kong, Professor Kua Ee Heok, Associate Professor John Wong Chee Meng, Board of Advisors and Staff of Mind Science Centre.
