Lunchtime Mindfulness Practice

AWE Lunchtime mindfulness

This workshop is held over Zoom every Friday from 1 pm to 1.30 pm (unless otherwise specified), starting from 19 August 2022. It is catered for busy working adults to take a mindful self-care break in the middle of the day. 

This workshop is open to the public. Complete beginners are also welcome to experientially explore Mindfulness with us!

Session Structure

  • 5-minute Brief Introduction
  • 20-minute Mindfulness Practice (practice may vary)
  • 5-minute Group Sharing & Discussion

What to Prepare?

  • Audio & Video-enabled Computer, Laptop or Phone
  •  Zoom software
  • Wifi connection
  • Earpiece with mic
  • A quiet space preferably

Facilitator

Ms Joy Chen

Ms Chen is a registered psychologist with the Singapore Psychology Society (SPS) and a Mindfulness & Compassion meditation practitioner. She received training and supervision in various mindfulness-based and compassion-focused interventions including: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Compassion-focused Therapy/Compassionate Mind Training (CFT/CMT), as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her interest lies in integrating ancient Eastern wisdom (i.e., mindfulness & compassion meditation) with modern Western science (i.e., psychology & neuroscience) to enhance mental resilience across ages.

Half-day Silence Retreat

Mindfulness half-day silent retreat is a block of time set aside for people who are interested to deepen mindfulness practice and look inside themselves. Participants are expected to remain silent during the 4-hour retreat, and there is also time set aside for group sharing based on the retreat experience. Complete beginner is also welcome to join and explore mindfulness experientially.
