PARADIGM Shift: A Bricolage Workshop is a therapeutic activity that uses everyday objects as a metaphorical catalyst to form a connection between oneself and one’s own psychological barrier. Adopting the concept of paradigm shift by Thomas Kuhn, where change happens when we start to think and observe in a new and different manner which is then complimented by the spirit of bricolage, working with constraints, an individual would go through a creative process using whatever material is present at hand.

Design Your Future by Debbie Ding – MAELab’s Teens & Kin Workshop

Participants will be challenged to brainstorm in teams, think critically, and problem-solve through hands-on prototyping, building their own speculative design prototypes. They will discover that they already have foundational skills to create meaningful scenarios and to find ways to represent their ideas – while having fun. The methodologies that they will learn can also be applied to their school and personal lives.

Take a peak into the uses of a sketchbook, look inside an artist’s sketchbook and create your own. Participants will be led on a silent walk to reflect and hit upon ideas for possible sketchbooking.
