Prof Hong Hai

Prof Hong Hai is chairman of Renhai Centre Limited and Adjunct Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU).  He was previously Professor and Dean of the College of Business, NTU and CEO of Haw Par Corporation Limited.  He has served as a member of the Singapore Parliament, chairing the Government Parliamentary Committee on Health.

He received his early graduate training in engineering, economics and management.  In midlife he developed an interest in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and has studied it for 25 years.  He is a registered TCM physician and practises part time at the Renhai Clinic with special interest in preventive medicine and chronic diseases associated with ageing.  He has researched and written about the scientific basis for Chinese medical principles.  At NTU, he has taught courses on culture and governance in China and East Asia.

Prof Hong has served on a number of public company boards and government statutory boards.  These include Singtel, SATS, Golden Agricultural Resources, URA, PUB and the TCM Practioners Board.
